Invitados todos, a ser parte de nuestra carrera donde incluiremos a los chicos por primera vez y por tercera las chicas, donde sabremos quienes son los REYES DE LA MONTAÑA, la cita será en el Museo Nacional a las 6 am, el asenso será al Páramo el Verjón, se premiará la primera persona de ( fij@s y ruter@s ) es decir tendremos 4 ganadores, 2 mujeres y 2 hombres es indispensable bici en optimas condiciones, el uso del casco es obligatorio, se debe hacer la inscripción para poder participar, esta se hará en el lugar, l@s esperamos

Bike Race from El Verjón Peak

Everyone is invited to join our third annual race, first time including male participants. To find out who are the Kings of the Mountain we are meeting at Museo Nacional at 6am from where we will climb to El Verjón Peak. We will have 4 winners, 2 females and 2 males. Having a bike in good conditions is a must, as is the use of a helmet. Participants must register at the start line before the beginning of the race.

The bike trail through El Verjón is the perfect route to get away from the urban dynamics of Bogota and find the peace and beautigul landscapes offered by surrounding nature.

The way begins on the road from Bogota to Choachí, to Guadalupe mountain, a viewpoint over the city that you should not miss! The road takes you to Matarredonda EcoPark, the point where your bike ride will begin.

The trail follows paths where our Muisca ancestors used to walk through, including a variety of vegetation such as moss, frailejón and encenillo. You will also find small lizards, beetles and an assortment of birds until you reach the Abuela waterfalls, including two small crystaline water jets.

Another attraction along the bike trail is listening the legend of the “sombrerona” (lady with big hat) before you reach the border, the best spot to admire the beauty of El Silencio sacred lagoon, a rest area for peasants who brought their produce from the plains to the city.

The following stretch, of greater difficulty, descends to Choachí (from the Chibcha language Window of the Moon or gap through which to look at the moon), a lovely
